Privacy policy

Effective and last updated:

This policy explains how Alphabot handles information when you connect your Google account and use the app's Google Search Console features.

At a glance

Google access is used to identify your account and show the Search Console websites you can access. You can remove the connection through your Google Account and contact the developer about access or deletion of information.

1. Who operates Alphabot

Alphabot is a desktop application developed and operated by Tumelo Rathebe, under the ALPHADOGRSA developer identity, in South Africa. It is also referred to as Alpha Bot IO. The app name shown for this Google connection is Alphabot.

This policy covers the app's Google account connection, its Search Console integration and these public Alphabot information pages. The developer's wider portfolio website has a separate website privacy notice.

Privacy and support contact: Rathebetumelo@gmail.com.

2. Information accessed

When you choose to connect your Google account, Alphabot requests the following information and permissions:

  • Google account information: your Google account identifier and the profile information Google makes available under the approved permissions, which can include your name, email address and profile picture.
  • Google Search Console information: the property URLs of websites your account can access and your permission level for those properties.
  • Authorization information: Google-issued authorization codes and tokens used to establish and maintain the access you approve.

The requested scopes are openid, email, profile and https://www.googleapis.com/auth/webmasters.readonly.

You enter your Google password with Google. Alphabot does not ask you to provide your Google password to the developer. The Search Console permission is read-only and does not permit changes to Search Console properties or settings.

3. How information is used

Google information is used to identify the account you connect, authorize requests to Google and display the Search Console websites and access levels available to that account. Authorization credentials are used for those approved account and Search Console features.

We limit use of Google user data to these visible, user-requested features and to resolving connection or security problems. If a future feature needs additional Google data or a different use of existing data, the policy and relevant in-app disclosures will be updated before that use begins, and additional consent will be requested where required.

4. Storage, retention and security

Alphabot processes Google account information, Search Console property information and authorization credentials as part of the desktop app's connected features. Any retained connection information is used to support that connection and the features described in this policy.

We retain Google information only for as long as it is needed to provide the features you use, address a support or security issue, or meet an applicable legal requirement. When the information is no longer needed, or a valid deletion request is fulfilled, it is deleted or de-identified as appropriate. A legal obligation may require limited information to be kept longer.

Google sign-in and Google API requests use Google's secure services. Access to information held by the developer is limited to the purposes described in this policy. Please protect your computer and Google account, and never send passwords, authorization codes or access tokens in a support message.

Revoking Google access prevents future authorized API access. It does not automatically erase information already saved or copied on a device; the deletion options below apply to those copies.

5. Sharing and Google's Limited Use requirements

Google processes information when you sign in, grant permissions or use its APIs, under Google's Privacy Policy.

We do not sell Google user data, use it for advertising or retargeting, or use it to train general-purpose artificial intelligence or machine-learning models.

Google user data may be transferred only as needed to provide a feature you request, with your consent; for security purposes such as investigating abuse; to meet an applicable legal obligation; or in connection with a business transfer after obtaining the consent required by Google's policy.

Human access to Google user data is limited to situations where you explicitly consent to access to specific information, where access is necessary for security or legal purposes, or where the data is aggregated and used for internal operations as permitted by Google's policy.

Alphabot follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements, when using or transferring information received from Google APIs.

6. Removing access and deleting data

  • Revoke Google access: open your Google Account's third-party connections, select Alphabot and remove its access. A new connection requires you to authorize the app again.
  • Delete device copies: remove any saved app data or copies of Google information from the devices and storage locations you control. Contact the developer if you need help locating app data. Uninstalling an app may leave some saved data behind.
  • Request deletion or access: email Rathebetumelo@gmail.com with the subject “Alphabot privacy request” to request access to, correction of, or deletion of information held by the developer. We may ask for information needed to verify that the request is yours.

When a deletion request applies to information held by the developer, we will remove information that is no longer needed, subject to applicable legal requirements, and explain any information that must be retained. The developer cannot delete files held only on a device you control or information retained independently by Google.

7. Website visits and support

The public Alphabot overview and privacy pages are accessible without signing in. These two pages do not embed analytics or advertising scripts and do not initiate a Google account connection. Website hosting may generate standard access or security logs, such as an IP address, requested page, browser details and request time, to deliver and protect the website.

If you email the developer, the message and the contact details you provide are used to respond to your enquiry, provide support and maintain necessary correspondence. Email and hosting providers process those communications or website requests to deliver their services.

If you follow a link to another part of the portfolio website, its website privacy notice describes that site's enquiry forms and analytics.

8. Changes and contact

The latest policy is published at this URL with its effective date. Material changes to the use of Google user data will be disclosed before the new use begins, with renewed consent where required.
